Naples is a thriving, affluent city on Florida's southwest coast known for its white sandy beaches and high-end lifestyle. It serves as a cultural and commercial hub for the region, blending natural beauty with luxury living.
A Brief History
The area was originally inhabited by the Calusa people before being settled by pioneers in the late 1860s. Walter N. Haldeman founded the modern town in 1885, promoting it as a destination comparable to the Italian peninsula. The city was incorporated in 1923 and later re-chartered as a city in 1949. The completion of the Tamiami Trail in 1928 and the arrival of rail service significantly spurred its development.
